About the NBA collective agreement

The Nurses' Bargaining Association Collective Agreement covers approximately 32,854 registered and psychiatric nurses in BC. The vast majority of the nurses are represented by the British Columbia
Nurses’ Union (BCNU). Nurses are also represented by the Health Sciences Association (HSA) and the Union of Psychiatric Nurses (UPN).

Nurses work predominantly in hospitals, but also in long-term care, community and public health, home support and mental health facilities throughout the province. Approximately 87 per cent of nurses are employed by the province’s six health authorities and 13 per cent in affiliate organizations including Providence Health Care.

Status

HEABC members and the unions represented in the Nurses' Bargaining Association have voted in favour of ratifying the tentative agreement that was reached between the two parties on September 25, 2012.
