November 25 - HEABC President and CEO appointed to top position at Fraser Health

After three-and-a-half years as President and CEO of HEABC, Michael Marchbank will be leaving at the end of the year to take on a new challenge as President and CEO of Fraser Health. HEABC’s Board of Directors will now start the recruitment process for a new President and CEO. For more information please see the Fraser Health announcement.

November 5 - Patient safety enhanced through improved international nursing assessments

HEABC is pleased to be a part of a new collaboration through the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry to develop a more streamlined assessment process to help internationally trained nurses enter BC. For more information please see the Ministry of Health News Release.

August 7 - Health employers and Professional Association of Residents ratify five-year agreement

HEABC members and the Professional Association of Residents of British Columbia (PAR-BC) have ratified a five-year agreement for the period April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2019. For more information please see the Announcement.

June 24 - Health employers and Facilities Bargaining Association ratify five-year agreement

HEABC members and the Facilities Bargaining Association (FBA) have ratified a five-year agreement for the period April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2019. For more information please see the Announcement.

June 23 - 2014 Excellence in BC Health Care Awards winners revealed

The winners of the 8th annual Excellence in BC Health Care Awards were announced June 23 at a gala luncheon in Vancouver. Twelve Gold Apple winners and eight Award of Merit recipients were honoured. For more information please see the Media Release.

May 15 - Tentative agreement signed with Facilities Bargaining Association

HEABC and the Community Bargaining Association (CBA) have ratified a five-year agreement for the period between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2019. for more information please see the Announcement.

January 16 - Recognition is within reach – nominations open for 2014 Excellence in BC Health Care Awards

Nominations for the 8th annual Excellence in BC Health Care Awards are open until February 28, 2014. Colleagues and members of the public are encouraged to nominate deserving health care employees and teams in their communities. Winners will be announced at a luncheon in Vancouver on June 23, 2014.
